Overview
We want you to get the right machine for the job. Because we sell large, high-value commercial equipment and trailers — much of it freighted directly to your jobsite or yard — returns are handled differently than they would be for small consumer goods. This policy explains when a return is possible, how to request one, and how refunds are issued. By placing an order, you agree to the terms below.
Inspect Your Equipment at Delivery
Inspect every item carefully at the time of delivery, before you sign the carrier’s delivery receipt or bill of lading. If you see any damage, missing parts, or signs of mishandling, note it in writing on the delivery receipt and photograph it before accepting the shipment.
Signing a clean delivery receipt indicates the equipment arrived in good condition and can limit your ability to claim transit damage afterward. A few minutes of inspection protects you on a freight-sized purchase.
Reporting Freight Damage
If equipment arrives damaged, contact us within 3 business days of delivery with your order number, a description of the damage, and photographs. We will work with you and the carrier to repair, replace, or refund the item. Keep all original packaging, crating, and pallets until the claim is fully resolved — discarding them early can void a freight claim.
Eligible Returns
New, unused equipment may be eligible for return within 30 days of delivery, provided it:
- Has not been operated, installed, fueled, registered, titled, or otherwise put into service;
- Remains in original, resalable condition with all original parts, manuals, fluids, and packaging;
- Is accompanied by proof of purchase; and
- Has received a Return Authorization from us before it is shipped back (see How to Request a Return).
Non-Returnable / Final Sale
Given the nature of heavy equipment, the following are sold as final sale and cannot be returned:
- Equipment that has been used, operated, installed, fueled, registered, titled, or modified;
- Used, pre-owned, demo, clearance, or auction-grade equipment;
- Special orders, custom-configured, or made-to-order units;
- Parts, attachments, and wear items that have been installed or used; and
- Any item returned without its original parts, manuals, or documentation.
This section does not limit your rights regarding items that arrive damaged, defective, or materially not as described — see Defective or Misdescribed Items.
How to Request a Return
Every return requires a Return Authorization (RA) number before anything is shipped back. To request one, contact our returns team at [email protected] or (555) 014-IRON with your order number and the reason for the return. We’ll review eligibility and, if approved, send written return instructions and the return address. Items shipped back without an RA number may be refused or delayed.
Restocking & Return Freight
Approved returns of eligible equipment are subject to a 20% restocking fee, which covers inspection, reconditioning, and re-listing. Return freight is arranged and paid by the buyer, except where the return results from our error or an item that arrived damaged or defective.
Equipment must be returned using a carrier capable of safely transporting heavy machinery. Damage incurred during return transit is the buyer’s responsibility until the item is received and inspected at our facility.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect a returned item and confirm it meets the eligibility conditions above, we’ll issue a refund to the original payment method, less any applicable restocking fee. Refunds are typically processed within 7–10 business days of inspection; the time for funds to post depends on your bank or card issuer.
Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable, except where the return is due to our error or a damaged/defective item.
Defective or Misdescribed Items
If an item is defective on arrival or materially does not match its listing description, contact us within 3 business days of delivery. For verified defects or misdescriptions, we cover return freight and provide a repair, replacement, or full refund. Any applicable manufacturer warranties are described in the documentation included with your equipment.
Order Cancellations
You may request to cancel an order at no charge before it ships. Once an order has shipped or freight has been dispatched, it is governed by the return terms above. Special orders and custom-configured equipment may not be cancellable once procurement or production has begun.
